Soundstripe
Improving production systems for a platform used by millions of creators
I helped improve Soundstripe’s production web platform by refining key user flows and maintaining templated systems used across the product. The focus was shipping safe, incremental changes that improved the experience without disrupting business-critical operations.
Overview
Soundstripe operates a large-scale media platform where creators discover, license, and use music in their work.
I contributed to the web platform by improving user-facing flows, maintaining templated systems, and helping the product continue to feel modern despite underlying technical constraints.
This was not greenfield development. The work centered on evolving a live system that supports real users and ongoing business operations.
Development at Scale
Soundstripe is used by 1.5M+ creators, with 20M+ licensed downloads and 400B+ streams
What I Worked On
- Refined user-facing flows across key areas of the platform
- Improved templated systems used for marketing and content distribution
- Supported experiences tied to music discovery and navigation
- Adapted frontend behavior to work cleanly with existing internal systems
Key Challenge
The platform needed to maintain a modern, polished user experience while relying on a mix of newer and legacy systems behind the scenes.
Many changes required working within constraints rather than replacing systems outright.
This meant making targeted improvements that:
- preserved stability in production
- avoided breaking business-critical flows
- still meaningfully improved the user experience
Engineering Approach
- Worked incrementally within existing systems instead of introducing large rewrites
- Used templating and structured patterns to make changes repeatable and safe
- Focused on improving clarity and responsiveness of UI flows
- Balanced frontend quality with the realities of underlying system limitations
Role
Contributed across multiple areas of the production web platform, with a focus on implementation, refinement, and system adaptation.
This work emphasized practical engineering judgment: improving real systems under constraint rather than building new ones from scratch.
Result
A stronger, more consistent user experience across parts of a platform used by millions of creators, achieved without disrupting existing operations.
